I FINALLY WENT TO SEE HAMILTON YESTERDAY IT WAS SO GOOD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH AUSTRALIAN CAST YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSS
I KNOW I DIED MY OTP
oh and he encouraged phillip to duel eacker
Hamilton
Don’t get mad at me. He was obnoxious and arrogant and expected everyone to agree with him. He rails at Seabury for having pro-British sentiments, and when Burr tried to mediate, he was like ‘nah, i’m good’. He was greedy for glory as well. He constantly nagged Washington to give him a command. While this might have been reasonable as he was a good strategist, it still ticks me off. During Meet Me Inside, he shouts at Washington and is sent home, after disobeying orders and confronting Lee (indirectly, but still). During Non-Stop, he is arrogant as a lawyer and eager to rise to the top. When Washington is making a huge offer to him he is muttering ‘ooh which one do i get hurry up jeez’. He then disregards the effect this would have on his family. Eliza pleads ‘Isn’t this enough?’ but he was not satisfied. It should have been enough. He then struggles to gain more control over the country’s money. Again, this may be sensible because he did do it well, but it shows his greed for power. He then breaks his wedding vows, cheating on his wife, disregarding the effect it will have on his family yet again. In case you need reminding, it broke Eliza’s heart. He also inadvertently caused the death of Phillip. If he hadn’t cheated on his wife (and then PUBLISHED it, i might add. this was really stupid. only a few people knew about the money he had spent buying Reynolds’ silence, which was pointless since everyone found out anyway), then Eacker wouldn’t have criticised Hamilton. Then Phillip wouldn’t have sought retribution, and the duel never would have happened. ‘I know I don’t deserve you, Eliza’. Damn right you don’t. And then people think he is a good character. He was arrogant and greedy and power-hungry. If anyone is the hero, it’,s Eliza. The woman was a queen.
